A picturesque scenery where you can see various strangely shaped rocks and deformities. It has been presumed that the current valley was made twenty thousand years ago when a riverbed in a basin was lifted up. Archeo-dinosaur fossils were unearthed from the rock formation and then named "Tamba-Ryu" which means "A dragon of Tamba."
The nice temples such as Kogenji, Sekiganji, and Entsuji are distinguished as famous for their beautiful autumn leaves. We have many tourists coming every year around November when it is the best time to see the autumn leaves.
A cloud sea which you can see from the top of the ruin of castle Kuroiwa which is designated as a National Historic Site can be seen when it is cold and clear or on most nights between autumn and early winters.
Established in 1716. Yamana brewery has been brewing sake made of local brewer's rice and underground water from the sacred Kami-Ike mountain handmade using a technique handed down for generations. Our representing sake is "Oku-Tamba."
Nishiyama brewery which is an old sake brewery and established in 1849 is located in Shima town, Tamba. Our representing sake is "Kozutsumi." We can offer the fresh sake at all year round.
The largest roadside station around the area, plentifully assorting stuff produced in Tamba such as fresh vegetables and fruits, confections and local sake. Seasonal ingredients which are specialties of Tamba will be lined up and sold such as chestnuts, dark soybeans, Japanese yam and Dainagon Azuki beans.
Tamba You & You no Mori where you can camp or stay over at a cottage among great nature in Tamba. We also recommend you to visit some at places like "Hammock Cafe" in the forest.
